Sometimes emotional struggles spill over into the school environment, or are even caused by a child’s school experience. School-related problems require a therapist with specific expertise in contributing to 504 Plans and IEPs. Unfortunately, many of these well- intentioned plans are written without the necessarily specific language that ensures a child’s access to supports. At times, these plans are so focused on behavior management that a child’s emotional well- being becomes secondary. I can offer insights and guidance around improving these plans to become more therapeutic, intentional, meaningful and specific to your child’s needs.

My work with children and adolescents who navigate ADHD and autism is highly individualized. The cornerstone of this treatment is to help children and teens view themselves as capable, equal, and whole. As we build trust and connection in therapy, we explore how they can begin to own their truth, embrace their individuality, advocate for their well-being across various environments, and best care for their relationships. This type of reset is often an incredibly empowering and healing journey, transforming how they interact with the world around them and opening up limitless possibilities for a great life.

Dealing with depression and anxiety involves more than managing symptoms—it's about changing the stories that feed these feelings, and encouraging kids to embrace their vulnerability and learn how to seek support for intense emotions. In session, I guide depressed or anxious clients to uncover and challenge the narratives of despair and worry that dominate their lives, encouraging them to construct new, hope-based possibilities that promote healing and resilience. Together, we will develop your child’s ability to recognize and respond to their own needs in overwhelming moments. When requested, I collaborate closely with other involved professionals and school staff.
